Ting-Hsiang Tseng

Lawrence is a PhD student at the Chair of Structural Dynamics and Earthquake Engineering at ETH Zürich and a researcher with the Future Resilient Systems (FRS) program at the Singapore-ETH Centre (SEC). His research focuses on modeling and simulating the complex interactions between social and technical systems of community disaster resilience. He developed a capabilities-based interface that integrates models and factors across various disciplines to model how individuals restore their well-being during post-disaster recovery processes. Lawrence holds a MSc (2018) in Civil Engineering, specializing in Societal Risk Management from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and a BSc (2015) in Civil Engineering from National Central University in Taiwan. Before joining ETH Zürich and SEC, he worked as a transportation engineering consultant with the City of Chicago's Department of Transportation, collaborating with state and municipal agencies to enhance safety and mobility across Chicago.
